    The working mechanism still fits on the original soldered body that was installed 40 years ago. That makes this a real simple replacement.

    This is a name brand, quality product. My washing machine valve finally gave up, having been in the house since the mid 70’sWatts is the industry standard for this and many, many other plumbing specialties.So imagine my delight when I found it here on Amazon for a solid 20 bucks less than the nearest competitor.Not always the case but this time they nailed it.

    Compression Nuts and Ferrules missing
    The image of the valve shows compression nuts and presumably ferrules. They were missing. I went to the local Ace Hardware and bought compression nuts and ferrules before tackling this job. After reading a review, where the person left the solder connections on the copper pipe. I did the same and the job went easy. Happy Ending.

    Perfect replacement for my leaky valve. The old one could have been rebuilt but the ease of simply replacing it was worth the price.

    Works well, slightly tricky installation…
    The valve works as advertised. One tip I can give… The heat of soldering can damage the valve. Remove the fittings from the back of the valve, sweat them to the pipes, then reassemble to valve body. The fittings must be perfectly aligned to reassemble properly… It’s a bit tricky. I cut the copper pipe and dry-fitted it all together, then sweat the last pieces to the valve fittings, reassembled the valve, and worked backwards to the water source. The valve body kept the pipes aligned and no leaks occurred.Tip #2… Water is off when the handle is UP, on when it is down. Do not assume down = off like I did… 😉 I went to the basement, turned on the supply and got water all over the floor…

    This product is great for water lines for washing machine, takes pressure off lines when turned off, great if your out mostly since waster lines can’t rupture.

    These are quality valves and I was looking forward to installing them but unfortunately the placement of the inlet lines did not match up with my current plumbing. So rather than rework my copper lines I was able to return these for a valve set that better matched my pluming. These are solid brass body valves with good machining and you won’t be disappointed if you purchase these for your laundry room.
