    Manufacturer just increased its profit by quite a large margin, unethicaly.
    Unit out of box will not operate, because power cord ( which was previously supplied with unit) is not supplied and has to be purchased by buyer for around $15. That’s a lot of added purchase for a unit that costs $39. I don’t remember reading in unit description a power cord being needed. I have bought the same unit from amazon and cord was in box.

    The Very Best of this kind of Machine
    I am obsessed with these little Arctic Air AC’s. I’ve sent a few to my friends at this point because I insist that they try these. I have temperature regulation issues and I’ve got to have one on my desk and at my bedside blowing on me. These are my little lifesavers. I want to note that I prefer the older models though. I’m not a fan of this new model with the plastic grate. That just makes it all the more easy to spill. I also prefer the completely flat top on the older models because I’d rest my phone, glasses, you name it on my AC as one of my designated places to just plop something small down. The grate makes it awkward, and I’m not sure if the item is going to collect moisture from evaporation or something with that. Other than that, these little guys continue to work like horses, lasting for years at a time. I have two of the big tower shaped ones, and two of these short ones at the moment, and have had at least 3 of the short ones over the past 10 years. I’ve left all of my units running overnight, and sometimes for days at a time, adding water as needed, and they are built to last.

    One can only feel the cool air if one puts his face right in front of it. Otherwise, it’s just a worthless and noisy device.

    Useful but not Arctic
    I suppose this review is more a reflection of the company that makes the product, and not on the seller or this order, which was fine, but…Right away, I am not impressed that they are too cheap to give you a converter to plug this into an outlet. They claim it is to protect the environment but that sounds like nonsense. They give you a web address to go to “if you want one” but it costs $10. So basically they want you to pay $40 for this tiny thing and then over-charge you for a method to plug it in. But, to be fair, the actual website for the product wants to you pay $60.The main issue I have is with the assertion that this is great for a night stand or desk. Just so anyone who reads this is aware, this thing puts out a pretty good amount of water. I ended up sitting it on a towel and I still find myself having to wipe up the area around it. The towel it is sitting on remains saturated. I have it on a crappy old desk in my garage so not a big deal (and the heat may be causing it to leak more) but I just wanted to put that out there in case it’s helpful.I wouldn’t exactly call this Arctic but I do like it. It is probably much more efficient in a room that is already semi cooled but for a hotter place, like a garage, it has the affect of a really good fan with air that doesn’t blow hot in higher temperatures. You do have to refill it quite often, but I don’t really find that to be a hassle.

    Great for bedside table
    Just got this a few days ago and I really like. Very easy to set up (takes 5 mins.). I use it on my bedside table to sleep at night (I live in Florida & am in the middle of menopause…lol). I don’t use the light on it because no matter which color you pick it is still too bright for sleeping. I have only used the lowest power setting so far. I think the other power settings would be too loud for me. I do freeze filter like they recommend and it stays cool the whole night through. The only minimal drawback is that it is very small, so you need to have it pretty close to you to feel the full effects of the cool air. I really like that the vents are completely adjustable.

    Stopped working after a few hours and a little water
    Mine only worked for a few hours. Got a little wet on the side. Stopped working. I literally got it yesterday.Worked well when it did.

    Defective Device
    Unfortunately the device didn’t work I just opened it several weeks after purchase to find the unit is inoperable flashes once and never turns on
