Customers say

Customers praise the trail camera’s outstanding picture quality, crystal clear footage, and 100-foot detection and flash range. Moreover, the camera is easy to set up and use, and customers find it well worth the price. However, functionality and connectivity receive mixed reviews – while some say it works reliably and automatically connects to the best 4G network, others report it doesn’t work at all. Additionally, battery life and value for money are also mixed aspects, with customers noting it takes 16 AA batteries and the monthly plans are fairly expensive.

    amazing investment
Update: Turn the on demand setting off and do not use on demand option!!!! It drains the batteries and kills the camera.I recently purchased the new Moultrie trail cameras, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! Setting them up was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly app. Activation was quick and straightforward, making the whole process incredibly convenient. The picture quality is absolutely amazing! Whether during the day or at night, the clarity and detail captured by these cameras are top-notch. It’s great to have such reliability in monitoring wildlife. Also, I found that the two-pack option is a fantastic value. It allows me to cover more ground without breaking the bank. Overall, I highly recommend these Moultrie trail cameras to anyone looking for quality and ease of use in their game monitoring. They truly are wonderful!

Reliable, easy to set up, and great image quality!
I’m really impressed with the Moultrie Edge 2 Cellular Trail Camera! The setup was super simple, it automatically connected to the network with no hassle. The photos are crystal clear and the 1080P videos with audio make it easy to capture every detail. I also love how strong the detection range is; it picks up movement from far away with accuracy. The app is user-friendly and lets me check photos instantly from my phone.I’ve used several trail cameras before, but this one stands out for its reliability and fast connection. Highly recommend it for anyone who wants a dependable, high-quality trail camera that actually works as advertised!

Stopped detecting animals after 25 days, now past Amazon return window. Moultrie refuses replacement
I really wanted to love these cameras. The first few weeks the defective one actually worked great – it was catching deer, coyotes, everything. I was thrilled. Then around day 25 the motion detection stopped working correctly on animals.Proof from this morning (Time-Lapse + Motion Detection explicitly ON, 10-min intervals, motion toggle ON). I had to set the camera to a schedule to take a picture every 10 minutes (though motion detection should have worked between the intervals) to prove it wasn’t working (see attached pictures):6:30 AM – coyote (no pictures of it walking in)6:40 AM – same coyote still there – ZERO extra photos7:10 AM – spike buck (no pictures of it walking in)7:20 AM – same spike still feeding – ZERO extra photosFour perfectly timed scheduled shots and not one single instant animal trigger in over 20 minutes of activity. It will still trigger when I walk in front of it (human heat signature is apparently different enough), but it is now completely blind to wildlife.By the time I realized something was wrong and went through all their troubleshooting (sensitivity High, battery pulls, firmware updates, fresh batteries, different locations – everything, multiple times), the Amazon 30-day return window had closed. This appears to be a widespread, years-long problem with the Edge series. Reddit (r/Hunting, r/bowhunting, r/Trailcam), Rokslide, and hunting forums are packed with similar stories. The front-line support people are genuinely nice and polite, but company policy clearly forbids them from helping. After sending timestamped proof, settings screenshots, and a list of everything I’d already tried, their final suggestion was to “bring it inside and test it live in your living room.” I asked how that proves anything when it already triggers on me but ignores animals in the field – crickets, just another script. They won’t replace it and won’t even credit the $16.99/month cellular plan while I own a broken camera. It’s exactly like dealing with an insurance company that will do anything to avoid paying a valid claim.Look elsewhere. I’ve owned Covert cameras – real defect? They shipped a replacement the same week, no nonsense.Save yourself the headache and the money. One star only because Amazon won’t let me leave zero.

    Trail battery powered waterproof cameras
I bought this as a gift for my husband, who loves watching wildlife, and it has been such a great choice. We have family in Brazil who live in the countryside, and one of our biggest wishes was to be able to capture some amazing images of the wildlife around them — especially the bugio (howler) monkeys and even jaguars that sometimes pass through. The camera works beautifully for this purpose. We set it up as a test, it was really easy to set it up. The image quality is crystal clear, and the night vision has been surprisingly sharp. The motion detection was fest to action. My husband has been thrilled setting it up, and it’s given us the chance to feel more connected to nature even from far away. It’s not just a gift — it’s a way to create memories and share the beauty of wildlife with our whole family. I just need to mention here that it takes 16x AA batteries per camera, and you also need a membership to connect the device with the app. But totally worth it. For power you can also purchase separately the solar panels. There is a port for it on the bottom of the camera.

    Reliable. durable. Battery operated
The moultrie deer hunting camera is a dependable battery operated camera used to track wildlife. It is reliable even at night. The camera quality is legit and it records as it is supposed to. The app connectivity will definitely depend on your network services as I did find some troubles with it in certain areas and no troubles in others. The camera is weather resistant and durable. The set up for the camera was overall very user-friendly. You do not have to be a tech genius to operate or set this camera up, which is always a plus. The image quality itself is a 7.5 out of 10. The motion triggers were a bit spot on and overall this would be great for beginners.

  8. Amazon Customer

I am not very tech-savvy. I was not expecting this trail cam to be so easy to set up, connect and attach to a tree. I started with a 2 pack and just I purchased 2 more. Everything from the camera to the app has been a positive experience.
