    Love this Headsets
Amazing sound quality and mic! Always go with Cordair for headsets!

    Durable and Large
Was looking for a durable headset that wouldn’t break after a couple weeks of using because with previous headsets at the same price would always break within a couple weeks because I have a large head and need to expand to fit my head and this fits amazingly well. The mic is alright and noise cancellation is amazing, half the time I need to keep it off to listen to family. The adapter works fine, no issues with audio delay either. Highly recommend if you got a large head.

Microphone’s a bit noisy, but it’s still better than most other options
A previous version of this review complained that headphone audio was bleeding through to the microphone. I have now isolated the cause of that, and it’s my motherboard sound inputs. I guess my motherboard must not isolate sound input and output very well. That’s a problem with my hardware, not the Corsair headset. It was solved by buying a USB soundcard adapter.Judging the headset on its own merits, I find it to be quite good. It’s a little tight on the head, but the earcups are soft enough that it’s not super uncomfortable. However, they are firm enough that people with sensitivity issues might not like how much they squeeze.I’m not a crazy audiophile, but I do care about good quality headphones, and I’ve definitely thrown my fair share of bad headphones in the trash over my life. The Corsair headphones sound pretty good to me. Decent range, and pretty alright bass. Don’t know how I feel about the headphones themselves having a dedicated volume knob; it sounds fine now, but knobs like that always start to crackle as they get old. Would have preferred digital buttons.Microphone quality is where I get picky. I have shopped around because even on $200+ Sennheiser headsets, the microphone input is always just passable, sounding like an old telephone. All the demos I listened to with the Corsair HS55 made the microphone sound really good. In practice, it’s… fine. It has much better range than most headset mics, giving it better clarity than the “old telephone” effect you get from most headsets. But it’s also pretty noisy. There’s a constant hiss at all times coming through this mic. The good news is that most voice chat programs have noise filters that will take care of things pretty well. On Discord and in livestreams I’ve done, there is effectively no hiss at all; you just have to configure your settings correctly. Sometimes it might leave you sounding a little muffled, but it still sounds miles better than the “old telephone” effect. In short, this is one of the best headsets I’ve ever used.

    DO NOT PURCHASE
I purchased two of these. One for myself and one for my boyfriend. His only lasted two weeks. They are made of very cheap plastic and the ear piece broke right off during light use. Both of ours have had recurring mic issues related to compatibility issues with Windows 11. The mic randomly gets super boosted and activates even when there is no speaking going on. It is extremely loud and painful to anyone listening to the conversation. We found two ways of resolving this. One was to download their update platform and force an update even if there is none. This took a lot of time and only resolves the issue for a few hours. The other solution was to simply unplug the USB and plug it back in, but this only ever worked half the time and also only resolved the issue for a few hours.THIS THING IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Technical issues aside, the sound quality is not that great. I ended up replacing his with a cheap $30 headset that works far better and has no issues whatsoever. Steer clear of this abomination!

    Great for the price!
Surprisingly great for 70$ clear quality easy to use buttons, very light works well with PS but doesnt with xbox which sucks but thats on microsoft, long lasting battery life and short charging time. Its quite small too so its easy to store or hang on the side. Been using for 4 months daily, even easy to remove the muffs if you want to switch em out. Also adjustable for better fit.

its been a good headset. but it started to echo after a few months.

Bought these to replace my Plantronics rig headset. Opted to get a wireless headset as that is the part that failed on my Plantronics. The USB dongle is great for use with my computer and if I’m travelling I take the headset along and connect via Bluetooth to my steam deck. If I forget to charge them the USB cable allows me to charge while wearing them or connect to the computer and have a wired USB connection with out the dongle. They are very comfortable closed back which helps block out people talking to you and distracting you while you’re working or gaming. Being closed back they are also warm. They mic folds up and mutes or fold down and activates with an audible tone or audio cue, there is also a button to mute.Volume control is easily reachable and controls the volume on the system.I love this headset, the surround sound is great. you can also get the equivalent surround sound as the HS80 by buying the $15 codec from microsoft’s store.

About a month in and still really liking these headphones. Sound quality is really good. Not sure if they would pass the audiophile test, but they have certainly allowed me to up my video game performance. I can now hear movement and other sounds that I was not able to hear through my speakers. The microphone is also great as it isolates your voice better than a mic from your webcam or laptop would. It may not have the best HZ range, but people will hear what you’re saying. The only real con is that the volume dial placement. I sometimes find that I accidentally adjust volume when taking the headphones on/off. This is just a learning curve thing, though.
