    Tasty water
I am tired of wasting money on plastic crap that is just going to get thrown away and help pollute our wonderful planet. So I chose this, mainly based on the brand name as well as all the positive reviews that were given. I received it this afternoon and it took me a whole 10 minutes from box opening to turning the water on and letting it flush for 5 min. So 15 min total time for me, but longer for those that don’t pay attention to the instructions or have any common sense. It’s not rocket science. Also this thing isn’t gigantic, it looks a good bit bigger in the pictures. It’s about the same diameter as a Red Bull can and maybe 4” tall (guesstimate). The water flavor is a whole lot better than it is without the filter. So far so good. I have no complaints on this purchase as the price was good, got to me quickly, and seems to work perfectly. I have no regrets on the purchase, I will buy again as needed and will recommend to others.Update: We have run enough water through the first filter for the light to change (from green, to yellow, to red.) to let us know it was time to replace the filter. (which I purchased extra when I bought the unit) I have a chemical chlorine and a ph tester in which I used on the water both unfiltered and filtered. Our town’s water does have a good amount of chlorine, which can sometimes be very strong smelling and southeast Florida in some areas are known for a higher lead level in the water supply. I don’t have any idea as to what our lead level is, as I have no way of testing for lead yet, but when I do I will update that info. Anyway, I can’t recall the initial level of chlorine or the initial ph, but the filtered water came out with what appeared to be no chlorine at all and the ph was 6.9. Both the original and the replacement filters produced the same results. So with that, we are very happy with everything that the system has been doing and have had absolutely no issues or problems with any of it including the aftermarket replacement filters. I still have no regrets on this purchase, with the exception of not getting it sooner.Update #2:Went to visit my mom in Texas and unfortunately the water in her town is highly chlorinated which both smells and tastes awful. So, they use a 5 gal water cooler for almost everything at her house and it is very hard for her to go get the bottles filled anywhere, so I pulled the phone out, opened up Amazon and ordered one and some replacement filters for her. Well she loves it, no more 5 gal jugs to have to fill, use, lift or have to worry about. Plus the machine does not get hot or cold and looks like it’s 30 years old. So with that, the water coming out of her kitchen faucet is not stinking of chlorine or anything else and is drinkable right out of the tap. So as soon as the 5 gal jugs are empty, those and the machine are gone. I don’t have my test stuff with me so idk what the chlorine or ph is now, so I can’t say what the results are but I can say I’ve been drinking nothing but tap water since I’ve been here. I will be bringing a bottle of it with me to test when I get home. So if you have crappy tasting water that’s highly chlorinated and smelly, this is what you need. I’ll be buying another again when or if it’s needed. I have absolutely no regrets on this purchase again. No need to look or compare with another, the price is right, it works very well, is easy to install and change filters. Just buy it, you’ll be happy. If I need another I’ll update again if anything is different.

    High quality Brita as always
Bottom line is these are good filters. Not like morally good but they function well. I bought them because the light on the front of my faucet-mount filter was blinking red. I figured the replaceable cartridge in there was past life. I buy these and install one – by the way, because the design of the filter and cartridge is very good, installation is very easy – so I installed one of these new ones and ran water thru it for five minutes per video instructions. That’s a lot of water to collect and mess with your friends & loved ones with. The light was still blinking red. I double checked install, which again was very straightforward (almost difficult to get wrong). The light, however, still blinked red. So I grabbed the other new filter out of this two-pack and installed it. Five minutes worth of water later, red remained rhythmically aglow. I just couldn’t believe it. Then, like a maroon signal pulsing in my mind’s eye, it hit me. I took out the cartridge and looked at the area where the cartridge installed onto the mating part of the faucet mount. It was kinda dirty. Gross, right? I lathered a gentle soap onto my sponge and scrubbed, careful to avoid using the abrasive green side. As the mount looked up at me, glistening in an almost thankful way, I squeezed suds on the cartridge install-nipple down (so nothing goes into the filter), rinsed and re-installed. The light then blinked green three times after a satisfying click. I felt as a Roman, bending the water to my wishes. While this story is true, obv this review is written with (hopefully some) humor. But I’m serious the replacement filters are as high quality as all other Brita products.

Great tasting water; filter lasts for months!
I’m SO glad I bought this Brita Faucet filter! What a convenience! Just twist the little (sturdy) dial, and you great tasting fresh water. My first filter I changed afterabout 3 months, but I don’t think I needed to. The light never came on, but it wasn’t green when it should have been, so I didn’t want to take any chances. This time I marked my calendar for 4 months, and it probably won’t need it then either. It’s just me and my small dog.The filters are very inexpensive, especially considering they last at least 4 months. And that’s using them for dog water, ice cubes, coffee, watering plants, and drinking water. I had an RO system the last place I lived, and it was more trouble than the Brita. You had to get under the sink and pull out the I can not state it simpler than the title of this review. This coffee is GREAT. I am single and making a pot of coffee or even a half pot of coffee most times results in stale coffee left in the pot that gets thrown out. Talk about waste. So at home, making coffee in a conventional drip maker is really not economical for a single person.I drink probably 5 cups of coffee every day. One each morning before work, two at work, and then no coffee until after dinner which I am back home by then. So, at home three cups of coffee at best. At work, having no coffee maker, I had been drinking a double cup of Instant (I shutter to even think of it). Talk about NASTY tasting. I have tried many different brands of instant and none of them tasted worth anything. If it is not fresh brewed, its NOT coffee. While searching for a better way of brewing coffee, my main goals was easy, convenient, and FRESH Brewed taste. I was about to think I could not get these three together until I stumbled on Cold Brewed Coffee Concentrates which I have never in my 51 years ever heard of.I decided on the Filtron over the Toddy because it seemed easier and a better thought out little system. My first cup which was drank with a certain amount of apprehension was just eye opening GOOD. I do not think I had ever drank a home made cup of coffee that good and because its a concentrate what could be easier than mixing 1 ounce with 4 or five of water and heating it in the microwave? As easy as instant but that fresh brewed taste makes it a winner. After two weeks of drinking this concentrate both at home and work (getting my 5 cups in a day 🙂 I brewed a pot with my trusty ole plug in Hamilton beach drip machine and I could hardly drink the bitter cup of muddy water with an oil slick on top that I used to call a good CUP O JOE. I unplugged my drip machine that evening, and I am never looking back. I love the Filtron’s smooth, great tasting coffee.Update: I am still drinking nothing else but coffee concentrate from my Filtron coffee brewer. Ah that cold brewed coffee. Thought I would give this helpful hint. I may be the last person aware of this helpful tidbit, however, get yourself an ice cube tray from say walmart. I chose the plastic Rubbermaid, which as luck would have it holds exactly one ounce liquid per cube. Every batch of coffee take out enough concentrate to make say eight coffee cubes or a whole tray but that uses up 16 ounces of your coffee at any rate put this into your freezer and when frozen, remove from tray and put into zipper freezer bag. Keep enough frozen coffee cubes for that day, when in between batches (it does take 24 hours you know) when you need a cup. One coffee cube to your cup, fill with water and heat in microwave, no stirring required. to replace them. Those filters cost over $45 to replace. The Brita filters are much cheaper.
