    Easy to use and maintain
This is my favorite brand and model of air purifiers so far. I already had two of this same exact model and I love them. They’re easy to operate and to maintain. The dial type like this model will turn back on if you experience a brief power outage while you’re sleeping or away from home. The types with electronic push button controls stay off after a power outage, even if it only lasts a few minutes or less. I have five different brands of air purifiers, but Honeywell has consistently been my favorite brand. The G filters sold by Honeywell last a long time. Other brands usually require more frequent replacement, but I prefer to change them more frequently anyway. If you purchase the Honeywell carbon pre-filters, they usually come with a template in the cut-to-fit packages. I normally use whatever carbon or carbon/zeolite pre-filters I have on hand and simply use my old filter as a template. Cutting several new filters at once saves time later on. Vacuuming or replacing filters is really easy on this model. If you place the unit on its side or upside down on a soft surface where it can’t fall to the floor, you can easily remove both filters. The G hepa filters usually last at least six months or longer if they’re the Honeywell brand. I carefully vacuum them on a regular basis, which helps. The carbon pre-filters need to be changed every three months or less. I change them every four to six weeks because I have extreme sensitivities to chemical odors and VOCs. People without these sensitivities could probably get by with changes every three months. The unit has a red light to remind you that it’s time to change filters. Otherwise, the light is green to show that it’s running. The G hepa filter is clearly marked with an arrow to indicate which way to insert it based on direction of airflow. For brands without the arrow, I simply draw one with a regular pen when I first open it. You don’t want to use permanent marker for this or you’ll circulate the toxic fumes everywhere. The carbon pre-filters are held firmly in place with little plastic pieces, so they fit tightly against the opening for air intake. If your table surface is irregular, the G hepa filter will sink down, because the unit doesn’t have a door holding it in place. Transparent tape with little tabs folded for easy removal will solve this problem. Both filters are wrapped in plastic, so you need to remove the plastic before trying to run the unit. The instructions are easy to see and understand. This particular model has room for thicker carbon pre-filters if you prefer those over the thinner ones, but changing the pre-filters often seems to work best. If you don’t change them often enough, they’ll start off-gassing whatever they have adsorbed/pulled from the air. (Adsorbed with a d) As far as power consumption, this model is energy efficient. It uses just over thirty watts at high power. That’s far less than my Holmes tabletop unit and my Filtrete tabletop unit. It’s roughly the same as my Hamilton Beach tabletop unit at high speed, but it uses more energy than that unit at medium speed. I haven’t tested the wattage on my Homemedics tabletop unit. My electric company provides rebates for energy efficient air purifiers, so that’s something to consider if rebates are available in your area as well. I’ve received rebates for my Honeywell units each time. Given a choice, I would choose this brand and this model every time. I’ve found that using several small units works better for my particular situation than using a larger unit. I have a Honeywell tower unit that I use as necessary, but my tabletop units have to run on each floor of my home continuously to protect me from experiencing allergic or immune reactions which could become life threatening. It’s important to note that positioning of air purifiers makes a huge difference. If you’re too close to the air intake, you’ll be breathing in larger amounts of toxins because the area around the air intake has higher concentrations. People don’t always realize this when positioning air purifiers in living rooms and bedrooms. And babies can’t complain if the air is bothering them. My reactions become severe immediately if I walk too closely to the air intake without holding my breath, so I know first hand how concentrated this area can be with toxins or triggers. I’ve nearly passed out many times simply because I wasn’t paying attention to this. Reposition units so that they weren’t as close to where I needed to be made a huge difference. I always make a point of vacuuming inside the opening for the filters whenever I have them out. A crevice tool fits perfectly into the space. They don’t get terribly dusty inside because the filters work so well. You can see at a glance when the carbon pre-filter needs vacuuming or changing. They look nice on most surfaces, whether tables are stained or painted. They also fit on top of a bookcase or dresser. Noise levels aren’t as loud as my other units and it’s easy to adjust levels. With the current levels of air pollution, every home should have several air purifiers available. I might not be alive if I didn’t have them.NOTE: THE UNIT I ORDERED ONLINE STILL HAS FACTORY ODORS WHICH NEED TO OFF-GAS. YOU MAY NEED TO LET CHEMICALS OR VOCs OFF-GAS BEFORE USING THE UNIT IN AN AREA NEAR CHEMICALLY SENSITIVE PEOPLE OR PETS. MY OTHER UNITS WERE PURCHASED LOCALLY AND HAD PROBABLY ALREADY OFF-GASSED.

    Clean Air, White Noise, Fan
I specifically looked for an air purifier where reviewers said it made noise because I need white noise to sleep, and I need the air purified, and I like a fan. So this does all three! The High setting is VERY LOUD but consistent in terms of white noise. It also puts out enough air to feel a good breeze on High if you turn the air output in your direction. The Medium setting is most tolerable in general, but I do crank it up to High when the neighbors dogs are barking! The Low setting is almost silent with very little air output. After one week, I ordered another one for my 20 yr old’s room, but he did not like the pitch of the white noise. (Personal preference for everyone.) We put that one by the cat litter box in the basement and it works great for odors and air circulation. My previous air purifiers blew the air straight up, whereas this one blows it out into the room. That may be a concern if you are not looking for a breeze.

    Great for spring allergy sufferers
Let me introduce by saying that I get very bad spring allergies. There is no stopping the pollen from coming in, even though specialists say that you vacuum regularly change your clothes after going out, take showers after being out. I tried them all still spring season is miserable for me. I purchased the Honeywell air purifier without much hope, to be honest. Let me say that I regret not buying this product any sooner. It was a game-changer – it significantly reduced my allergy symptoms (sneezing, watery itchy eyes, sinus pressure..). For full disclosure, I’d like to reveal that I was also on a daily dose of Loratidine (but I used to take Loratidine before getting the air purifier and still had multiple miserable days). This air purifier worked for me, and I am sure it will benefit other spring allergy sufferers like me.It is very easy to install and comes with filter sets. There are 3 settings as mentioned. On the lowest setting, you can hardly hear any noise. You can say that it is almost silent. On higher settings, you can hear some noise, like that of a fan. It gives out some air and can also second as a fan during the summer months. There is no chemical smell at all.I am very happy with this purchase!

    Works great for my room.
This product works great to take unwanted odors and contaminants out of the air. My roommates consistently smoke indoors with little ventilation. As a result, my apartment frequently smells like smoke and allergy irritants. Since my purchase of this product, I have noticed a difference in the time it takes for the odors and smoke to leave my room. When keeping the air filter on, the smell and visible smoke dissipates quickly and keep it out. With the HEPA air filter, I have noticed a positive change in my sinus reaction to my apartment. I also enjoy the volume of air it moves. It works for me as a fan as well in my fairly small room. However, the air filter lasted much shorter than the time that the product states. Within the 6 months, I have had to replace the filters. For this reason, I give it 4 stars.I would recommend this product though for anyone looking for a quality air filter.

    Air quality does not lie
I have the Honeywell 465 sq.ft. air purifier with one HEPA filter. I run it non stop at low speed in my 1000 sq.ft. home and regularly test my air quality. This unit has made a HUGE difference, especially in these very poor OA conditions from the Canada fires. It has kept my indoor air within the GOOD range (about 9 micrograms per cubic meter).Just bought the tower model because it has two HEPAs, and after having it on, it does run slightly quieter than the smaller model.

This is an excellent Honeywell Tower Hepa air purifier
This is an excellent product. It’s the fourth one I purchased., The big box stores stopped, caring it, and they’re hard to fine. And yes, you do have to purchase the filters two per. But if you purchase more than three, you get them for around $17 each. It’s well worth it. It takes away cooking and Dog alters and cleans the air.x. I’ve learned to vacuum The dust off the filters to keep them lasting a little longer.
