Customers say

Customers find the air purifier effective at improving air quality and removing odors, with good quality filters and easy setup. However, the functionality and noise level receive mixed feedback – while some say it works well and is super quiet, others report it stops working and find it very noisy at level 4. Moreover, the lifespan is concerning as customers say it’s not built to last, and the value for money is negative with customers finding it rather expensive.

My Favorite Buy for a New Home
Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking to clean up the air and/or remove odors.I bought this first thing after buying a new home. The house itself is old, so it had lots of years of dust and particle build up from previous owners. Which gave me some issues with allergies (runny nose, sneezing, coughing, etc). I picked this out after a bunch of research on air purifiers in hopes it would help. I can say it definitely has helped and has been my favorite purchase related to my new home so far.I’ve been using it for about 4 months now and it’s been great. It cleared up my allergy issues pretty quick. It definitely does a good job of removing particles from the air. I use it in different rooms of the house and leave it going for a while when I either want some air flow, or to freshen up the room. My house and it’s rooms aren’t too large, so this fan is more than enough to move multiple rooms worth of air in a short time. This actually does a great job of removing smells from the air too. I didn’t necessarily buy the air purifier for this, but have been happily surprised at how well it works for odor removal. Neighbors smoke, so it helps cut that scent a bit if I want to have the windows open. I’ve used it in the kitchen a decent amount to cut down on the smell of strong foods or smoke when food has accidentally gotten burnt (oops). I can leave this running in a room over night and it’ll remove any lingering smells by morning. In the 4 months of having it the filter seems like it’s still got a lot of life before I need to even think about replacing it. If you use it heavily daily or in environments thick with dust, particles, or intense smells it might not last as long?Very quiet on the lowest settings. Only used it in the bedroom overnight a few times. I do enjoy that the lights can be mostly turned off.The only feedback I would give to Medify for this model (M-50 V3.0) is maybe find a way to add a carrying handle or loop of some sort to the top? It can be kind of awkward to pick up and carry from room to room as it’s a bit bulky in size. Definitely not worth taking a star away though.

MA-50 is good for bedroom or other quiet location
We have several MA-40s and MA-50s at work, both do a good job filtering the air and have been running non-stop since Covid circa 2020 without any issues. However….. if you want a air filter that is quiet (for example in a bedroom) the MA-40 is way too loud. Get the MA-50 for bedroom use, fan speed 1 is essentially silent, fan speed 2 is like white noise. Fan speeds 3 and 4 are powerful but much louder. Sleep mode is nice, it turns off the units lights and sets fan to 1, which is quite handy.

Great air purifier too high a price for a fan with filters
The Medify does do a great job of air purification. Less sneezes and sniffles but it comes at a high price. Basically a glorified PC/ vent fan in a plastic housing with a timer (remind us to buy the filters) and basic fan controls.Would I buy another one? Maybe it truly depends on the price. Someone would have to explain why it is 299 bucks though.Sorry I seem like a grump. I am mostly mad at myself for thinking this would be something gloriously complicated and a major plus in my longevity checklist. It is just an air filter system. Plain and simple. The other thing that set me off today was the change filter indicator went on. I changed the filter with an actual Medify MA-50 filter then I realized I had to reset the indicator. How do you do that? The box didn’t say. The filter bag it came in didn’t say. I don’t see it on the case itself (if it is, it is hard to read/find).Solution; Google it/or Check your Medify FAQ page under MA-50. (Hold the dimmer button for three seconds or at least until it turns off the change filter nag light.Medify: I would up this review if you at least put the instructions on the replacement box instead of more commercials on why I should buy the very same box I bought.I reduced the review to 3 stars after seeing the price go up yet again. Costs a packet, but it actually works for severe allergies and 3D printing fumes
This air purifier is the definition of “you get what you pay for.” In that I mean both the unit and the replacement filters are ridiculously expensive… but they actually work! I am simply amazed by how much better I feel when I’m in the same room as this filter.I have severe allergies, plus I also paint and do resin 3D printing, and even though I’ve got an external exhaust system in my office to vent fumes outdoors, it’s not 100% effective and there are noticeable fumes while the printer is running or while I’m washing or curing parts, changing out resin, using enamel paints or glue, etc.I was previously running a GermGuardian AC4300, and it did practically nothing to clean the air, even cranked up to maximum. But this MA-50, on the lowest “1” setting, where it’s whisper quiet, does an incredible job of scrubbing the air. Every time I walk into my office all you can smell is the crisp sterile scent of the active charcoal filter. It’s like the International Space Station in here. When I’m actively 3D printing or when there’s a grass fire or the landscapers are deliberately seeing how much dust they can blow up onto the front porch and under the front door, I sometimes crank it up to “2” or “3” where it does get pretty noisy, but there is absolutely zero odor, and my sinuses and airways remain clear… as long as I remain in this one room.If you have severe allergies or do 3D printing, it’s worth paying twice as much for a $300 product that you know works and is doing the job it was designed to do, as opposed to a $100 or $150 product that simply circulates the air and doesn’t seem to absorb anything at all.
