Plantronics Voyager 5200 Bluetooth Single-Ear Headset Compatible to connect to your PC and/or Mac
I have owned Plantronics before and love their built quality. The phone calls are very clear and it feels great to use for long periods of time. Having 2 year warranty is a piece of mind. Charge times of 1.5 hours and 7 hours of use is great. Having different options of charging with direct micro usb to the headset or with the case internal or external. This unit has a great range of 98 feet from the pc or your phone. You cant go wrong with this unit. Multiple rubber ear inserts for adjustability. You can buy the ear piece or with the charging dock.

Take Pause – Poly 5200 Bluetooth Headset – Poor Quality
I have purchased eight of these headsets and used them for over a year before I posted this review. From my testing of eight of the 5200 series, I have concluded the 5200 series has serious issues in quality:Battery life under performance: 7 to 8 hrs use expected (W/O HD Voice) on avg use, expect four+ hoursVoice Commands Notifications fail frequently: goes silent, status isn’t available or voice commands available, there’s a way to reset sensors by holding vol up& down while turning it on. This only works for a while. This is consistent on the eight headsets I have purchased.Charging port: The accessory case (separate purchase and four different ones tested), charging isn’t consistent. The USB port on the headset is often difficult to connect; and the rubber dust cover (On USB) will eventually will fail and no longer be attached to headset. The type of power charger used will play a role as the headset will not charge with high wattage power adapters. The interface is an older version of USB, not USB-C requiring more accessories if you travel. (Charging Cases do not work correctly for me)Bluetooth interference: often I find when in a room w/ other Bluetooth devices there’s a level of interference which causes frequent disconnects of the headset. If you have more than one of the 5200’s paired with a device, and both are on, its not smart enough to know which one you’re wearing. This is a simple software fix. (Senor can tell when you are wearing it)Firmware Updates: Keeping headsets up-to-date is very important. I find that poly has limited & restricted manual firmware updates. Some updates should be reverted for better performance. Its pretty much a one shot deal; take what they offer and that’s it. A word of caution too: when looking for firmware updates, I discovered their refurbished headsets do not have the same firmware as a new headset. Performance and feature rich options appear to be more limited/restricted.Microphones drop: I’ve noticed at times when the battery life is below 25% that the microphones become intermittent. People in conversations complain they cant hear me, so I change to another fully charged 5200. I attribute to poor design and poorly written software. This could be fixed w/ software by notifying the user to charge the headset.Comparing the older models of Voyager series headsets, the older out perform the 5200 in every aspect. After they company was bought out, the quality went out the door with it. I expected the same operational performance as the older voyager headsets and I was wrong to assume that Poly would continue the same quality in the 5200’s.5200’s have caused me a great deal of frustration in day to day business. I’m now searching for a different brand all to together.I implore that you take pause before purchasing a Poly 5200 headset; research is your best defense to determine a Bluetooth headset product which best suit your needs.

Excellent Headset – Plan to Replace Every 12-18 Months
Excellent headset, but with issues.I’ve been using model for about six years.Pros:* Great directional microphone. I work at home with music playing, and it never bleeds through.* Sound quality is very good. I use an after-market foam pad for the part that goes in the ear.* Mute buttons interacts with Teams/Zoom and the USB dongle goes red when muted.* Can pair with both laptop and my phone, which is super useful.Cons:* Plan to replace every 18 months or so. Every one that I’ve had breaks at the part at the top, between the machinery and the ear/microphone. Just on-and-off wear, but the rubber eventually breaks until it’s only held together by the cables inside.* If you’re on calls non-stop for four hours, battery gets iffy. But if you can get it on the cradle for five minutes here or there, it’ll recoup enough charge to keep going.* Charges from empty to 30-minutes quickly, which matters for marathon troubleshooting calls. That I keep going back and buying it again says that the pros outweigh the cons for me.

Best Headset I Have Ever Used
I have worn this headset daily for months, and I love it. During a normal work day I switch between Cell phone (iPhone 11 Pro) and Microsoft Teams calls on my (windows 10) laptop. Turn the switch on and the headset automatically connects to both devices simultaneously. Throughout the day I stream music from my phone between calls and when a call comes through or a Teams meeting pops up the music is silenced and the the call is announced and can begin. Press the mute button on the headset during a Teams meeting and it mutes or un-mutes on the teams program not just on the headset. Walk out of range from the connected devices and it warns you. Walk back in range and it tells you it is reconnecting. When used while traveling in the car on phone calls I have asked others what they hear on the other end of the line. They report that there is not any background noise so the noise canceling seems to work well too. It just works AMAZING and is so comfortable I forget it is even there. I keep it charged nightly or plug it in to recharge during lunch break and it last an 8 hour day while streaming music or talking nearly the entire time. I liked it so much I purchased one for work and another for use at home. I have used a variety of earbuds and headsets for business over more than 15 years and these have been the best ever. The only possible negative I can think of is that they are so light and flexible that I wonder about durability. That said, I have not had a problem yet and they have served me so well that if one broke tomorrow, I would replace it immediately with another one just like it.

Fantastic!! It’s so light I forget I’m wearing it. So easy to accept or decline calls. Easy to pair with 2 phones and to my laptop or Chromebook for virtual meetings. Battery life lasts all day which is so good. Fast charging which is helpful too on extra busy days.

Excellent product with very good mic audio quality. Voice commands to answer or reject the call are very convenient. Teams set up took me one minute. Connects very quickly. Things that could be better;- range is not as advertised, much shorter depending of course on building’s stucture- battery life 6 hrs might be a problem but charging case helps here a lot- noise reduction decreseas audio quality pretty much (e.g. during driving a car with higher speed)- voice alert on battery status is not working after the latest software update.Overall I recommend for daily usage and conference calls.
