    Excellent, high-quality tripod
super pleased. Extremely well-built, extends high for standing (I’m 6′). surprisingly compact, with smooth head for binos or spotter or camera.

    Great for Hunting
I should start out by saying that I haven’t used many high quality tripods. This tripod is by far the easiest one to set up, while also packing down to fit in the side pocket of a backpack. In my case, I’m using the tripod for hunting, so I set my optics up on it. For the price, I don’t think there’s a better option. The legs splay out to allow you to get very close to the ground. I swapped the center post for a short 2″ one so I can be almost flush to the ground. Highly adjustable and high value for the price. I’d recommend this tripod to everyone who asks me about it.

At this price point, this is the best combo
I have only taken this tripod out in the field a few times, but it has performed really well so far. The leg locks are not as smooth or quick as a Slik tripod (you have to twist twice as much to loosen and tighten), but they seem solid so far. The legs on this tripod are much sturdier and a little taller than my Slik CF-634, which is the biggest plus so far. I love the compact design of the legs as well, it fits it the side pocket of my Exo pack annd straps down easily. The center column is sometimes a little finicky to tighten down, it seems to require a little extra tightening to keep from wobbling while glassing. The new VA-5 head design is taking some getting used to. I have had the original VA-5 head for 6-7 years now and still love it. This new design has a few nice qualities to it, but the side drop-in plate access throws me off every time. The lock levers and knobs also seem unnecessarily big. Still a great, smooth head for most optics, but I’m a little happier with the old version. To be fair though, I may still just be resistant to the changes.Overall, great purchase at the sub 180 dollar price point and I will highly recommend to all of my buddies.

    An absolute perfect travel tripod!
This tripod is amazing! Super light, yet, super strong. I use it to hold about 20 lbs of gear on simple multi cam shoots on the streets. There is not a single thing that I would want changed on it.A 1 star reviewer on this item complained that he accidentally pulled a leg out so he had to return it. This to me is my favorite thing about this thing. You can purposely pull the legs out if needed and make the pack down size as low as 16.5″! Really great for the frugal flyers that want to carry some really great gear that easily fits within an 18″ x14″ x 8″ bag. Here’s talking to you, Spirit and Frontier enthusiasts! Gotta love ’em!

AM 225 vs this one, the ST 125…
With so many tripods out there, I had to narrow my search to find something that fits my specific needs (a challenging process because I want it all sometimes lol). I shoot on my desk for talking head videos, the gym for instructions or my own workouts, the parking lot, and mostly close to mid range shots. Now, I like to carry/travel light weight and with minimal gear. Additionally, I make sure to purchase equipment that performs optimally and offer flexibility/versatility.The AM 225 and ST 125 are by far the best affordable carbon fiber tripods out there and well suited for my needs. I go over the details on my video but for this section, all I can say is that I opted for the ST 125 and the AM 223 (for talking head/table footage). The ST 125 is slightly taller (folded; ~1.5″), thicker (~1″), and heavier (~100g) than the AM 225 as well. However, its not by much. The ST 125 may be a bit pricer (~$70 more) but it offers a triangular center column for that added height and security, thicker legs for stability, and is waterproof. One con is that this tripod (ST 125) does not include a ball head (BK 00). I use that one and love it, by the way. Super smooth. ~$50 bucks too.But all of theses features are one unit whereas the AM 225 only reaches about 50″. To get that extra height, you got to buy SIRUI’s center column (100). This was not ideal for me as it would add unnecessary steps and more equipment to carry. Both are great. It does depend on you and purpose. Even if I had it as a gift, I just wouldn’t see why I should keep it when the ST 125 does it all so well. So, I decided to keep the ST 125 with BK 00 ball head and do not regret it.I hope this was helpful. Thanks for reading my review.

    Great
Works very well but lost the bottom section of one leg out hunting! Make sure you tighten them up before packing it away

  8. Marriedbigbutt

Great for spotters and hunting for the price/weight
Sturdy tripod, holds my 65mm spotter rock solid and plenty sturdy enough to shoot off of. It’s a little heavy for a back pack in hunt but if you’re day hunting or close to the truck this is a great tripod for the money/weight.Ita great for standing while glassing with tons of height.

One of the best tripods I’ve bought Very light (carbon fibre) :One of the best ball head I’ve come across ,very smooth movement,And being 6ft tall I was looking for a tall tripod without using the centre pole , and this works perfect .As I do landscape photos (mainly in mountains )It’s handy for carryingAnd delivered 4 days ahead of time10/10

  12. Ryan

I have been using the SIRUI ST-124 CF tripod for over a year every single day for work. This tripod is a lightweight, sturdy BEAST of a tripod. They say if you buy a good tripod it’ll last a lifetime. This is true for this tripod, as after a year of daily use it still looks and functions like it did in day one.The height it can reach is perfect for most applications. Highly recommend this tripod to any photographer who needs a tripod.

Al plantarlo por primera vez y abriendo las patas, una de ellas se rompió.
