    Fits our Kenmore Elite fridge!
    Direct replacement for our Kenmore Elite fridge. Lowe’s told me there was no such product…. yet here it is. Works great.

    Standard replacement filter
    This is the standard Kenmore brand filter required for the refrigerator. The ;packaging, etc. are like the ones I have been replacing every 6 months for about the last 8-9 years. Original ones were made in China. So are these. The only difference is the price used to be $44 at a Sears store. Now the standard price I about $55. Very easy to install.

But shopping on Amazon made it just as easy as walking into Sears.     Has all NSF certifications 42, 53, 372 and 401. It reduces parasites, lead, chlorine taste and odor, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and some pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Best of all! No black gunk running out of it after install.

    If this is the right filter for your refrigerator/freezer, it is a breeze to install. As a note: when you put it in, you might get some sputtering sounds at first (especially if you haven’t changed the filter for a bit). It almost sounded like there were plops or chunks of something coming through, however, that only occurred the first few times we used it. To be safe, we filled a glass of water about 5 or so times, until the sound was gone. Addition: After 5 months, however, my refrigerator registered that this filter needed a replacement already. That being the case, I have reduced the stars to 4, as I think that is really too soon for the filter to stop working, even with heavy usage. (My old filter lasted a year, but that was purchased directly from Sears, I believe.) Oh, and the price increased by $13 this time, which is a HUGE increase.
