Birds and Squirrels love sunflower seeds.
The birds and naughty squirrel LOVE sunflower seeds. They do make quite a mess on the ground with the shells.

A special treat for squirrels
I’m sure this product might be lovely for birds–if only I had a squirrel-proof feeder! After receiving this big bag of seeds, I was told that sunflower seeds, cracked or not, are particularly attractive to squirrels, and bringing more squirrels into my yard certainly isn’t what I had in mind. So I went back to the Amazon webpage and found the place where you can ask questions about the product. It answered my query about squirrels’ taste with a rousing affirmative, suggesting I might want to buy something to keep squirrels away from my feeder. I sure wish that that fact had been included in the product details section because bird seed, like other perishable items, cannot be returned or replaced at Amazon ( a reasonable policy which I don’t object to at all). And I am left with a big bag of stuff that’s going to end up feeding squirrels, not birds.
