    quite small
    This product is really nice, wood doesn’t seem to have any chemicals on it so I don’t care that my pigs chew on it. It is however very small and unusable for adult guinea pigs. it would need to be at least twice it’s the size, not only depth but length and hight. Other than that the price is fitting for the size and my pigs happy chew on it while they eat their hay.

    Too small!!!!!!
    We were excited to see the Kaytee manger size large on sale and immediately purchased it. We received it pretty quickly only to pull the item out of the box and noticed it was anything but a large as written in the description but rather the small manger. The hay manger barely holds a days worth of hay for any small animal. I would give this product 0 stars for quality of wood (wood is extremely soft and any wood loving pet would destroy this in a matter of hours), size description listed for item is incorrect.Disappointing that the wrong item was sent to me and Kaytee does not allow me to return the item and get the size advertised and purchased 🙁 Will definitely not purchase another Kaytee product.

    It kind of worked but you may need to buy another in the near future.
    Though I liked the hay rack I didn’t like the clips that were offered to connect them to the cage. They were flimsy and one fell off and I couldn’t find it ever again. My rabbits seemed to really really like the hay rack and they ate it to oblivion so I’m back having to buy another hay rack. No I wouldn’t buy this hay rack again. If my rabbits hadn’t eaten the first one I think that I’d live with it but seeing as they did eat it I’m looking for one that is made out of plastic one that they’d be less interested in eating. All in all the hay rack worked ok. It’s not a huge rack so I had to really shove the hay in to make enough hay fit but that wasn’t a big deal to rabbits. They could get to the hay pretty well. The wood though? it’s just that the wood used for this particular hay rack is on the thinner cheaper side and apparently my rabbits really enjoyed chewing on it. They lived thankfully but indeed I was forced to return to Amazon to buy yet another hay rack. Maybe if this hayrack was marketed to be a novelty item for rabbits I would be less disappointed. Anyhoo hope that this helps someone figure out if this rack will work for their needs.

    This is the best hay manger I have used. After reading some of the other reviews we knocked out the bottom rung, which is super easy to do, and makes the hay much more accessible for our piggies. I particularly appreciate that it is made of wood, we really try to keep our animal friends from eating out of plastic, I have had more than one vet think that it causes problems in our furry friends, plus there is the added benefit that they can chew on it.Two things I would change, one, the size, I wish it was bigger, our piggies eat a ton of hay and it needs to be filled at least daily. Two the hooks are cheap and bend, and then eventually need to be replaced. I just bought a 200 pack on Amazon so I have enough now to last a lifetime, just wish they came with something sturdier.

    Way Too Small
    Bought this without reading the dimensions for my guinea pigs, which is my fault. I love Kaytee brand for a lot of things so I just assumed this would be great for them. However, for guinea pigs/rabbits, this is WAY too small. The largest point of the opening to put hay is barely 2″ and only gets smaller as you get lower. You can barely fit any hay inside and my piggies would go through this in a few hours. Also, it was shipped in a thin bubble wrap envelope which did not protect it, and it arrived with the corner broken off so I had to glue it back together. Ended up trashing the thing and bought a larger one locally.

    I thought this wooden hey holder/feeder would be a good size cause guinea pigs n rabbits gotta have all day access to there hey n wen it arrived i was surprised to see how small n flat it is i cant fit barely any hey in it cause if u use regular hey its long so u gotta bend the hey and see how much fits but if u use second or third cut hey the pieces fall out n cause u cant fit alot its just a hassle for me maybe for someone else itll work but not for my lexi(guinea pig)

    It is good quality that will not harm but it is much smaller then i anticipated and a little to easy for my bunnies to tear apart.

    This hay feeder is an excellent option for dispensing hay to rabbits. Whenever I check on my bunny, the feeder often gets cleared indicating my rabbit can easily access the hay and that it’s comfortable for her to munch on the hay from this feeder. This feeder holds the hay very easily and makes refills very simple, and makes it easier for rabbits to enjoy the hay that is very good for them.     Broke apart as I tried to put some hay in it, cheaply made, and way too small, my rabbits wouldn’t have even been able to get the hay out the the thing even if it didn’t break.
