True as stated, only upper tongue area questionable
Would like to rate a 4.5 only issue is the gusseted tongue where it’s stitched and sealed needs to come up higher to the topmost eyelet. This could be potential water seepage, unless you wear waterproof pants that are able fall down to cover at least the top three eyelets of boot.As weather forecasted, so far was only able to wear it in a drizzle during New Year 2026 in SF. Have not experienced heavy down pour; I believe if you wear long waterproof pants as explained above, you should be fine.Besides that, Columbia is a great outdoorsy brand that I have always respected. Everything is true as advertised. I’m truly happy with it, great traction (slip-resistant not tested) great ankle support for long range, very comfortable, not so bulky or heavy. If you’re hiking in moderate rain or wet misted lands or through small trickling creeks of a couple inches, you’ll be fine. Not meant for wading through flooded areas or neighborhood. Not heavy duty rated for warfare as well, lol. I think would be great for weekend fishing or camping or hunting with loved ones. Planning to buy second pair. Thank you for your time reading.

Comfortable and sturdy everyday shoes
These men’s shoes from Columbia are very comfortable right out of the box. Lightweight but well-made, with good support and a solid sole. They fit true to size and feel stable when walking for long periods. The materials look durable, and the shoes hold their shape well. A great option for everyday wear and casual outings.

Comfy grippy and feet stay dry.
These are exceptional in terms of quality, value and comfort. They are very very comfortable and snow/icy sidewalks had me satisfactorily checking out traction and long walks where comfort shined. Even with a medium height cuff, they are easy to slip into. I travel into Canada regularly and these hikers hit all the targets. Stylish for say, dinner out, sloppy frozen Montreal sidewalks in slush 3-4 inches deep feet dry, and for hiking to a lake in Laurentians. Columbia 100% satisfaction.

Great Boots! One minor problem…
Comfortable right out of the box. Fits well, and true to size. The tread is grippy on a variety of surfaces and terrains. They proved to be waterproof as I crossed streams and shallow ponds of water. My only gripe is the laces and hooks. The laces are longer than I’d like, and the hooks are large enough to accommodate the laces and then some which creates a hazard. Having tucked the laces in after tying them, they became untucked while hiking. This became an issue when the loop from the right boot lace caught the left boots top hook and proceeded to toss me forward to the ground as if some had tied my laces together resulting — not fun.Otherwise, the boots are great. They look and feel great, and are well worth the cost.

Good quality. Good brand. Minor fit issue
I usually know my boot size and I know I need the wide type. Most of my footware orders fit. This one being a hiking boot was new to me. It fits well for the toes but the back of the shoe is a little too big/wide. It might be the intention in this kind of a boot however I found that fitting a cut gel insole just in the back makes the boot very comfortable. Could not fit the full insole at it made the toes fit uncomfortably tight. The boot is generally well made. It is tough and possibly needs some breaking in before heavy duty hiking. A little on the heavy side but it is not a running shoe.

Chaussures taillant grand.

These are comfortable hiking boots. Hiked for a week in Vermont and even with a lot of scrambling over rocks and wading through mud they did not disappoint.
