    Great shoe for boys or girls
    The Merrell Trail Chaser shoes are perfect for our boys ages 6, 10 and 12. We buy them over and over. Not to give the impression that they don’t hold up – on the contrary. They hold up great for our boys who are hard on their shoes – daily wear, life in the country – think cow pen, creek, rocks, puddles, dirt roads, etc. The traction is so good on these shoes. They have lot of fun colors to chose from. They wash up nicely in the washer and dryer. The style works for boys or girls depending on the color you choose. These are high quality shoes. Worth the price. My boys wear them through the winter, suggesting they are warm and stay dry. I don’t know if they are waterproof but they work for us. I would highly recommend these shoes.

    AWESOME Shoes for Active Kids!
    These shoes are AWESOME!! I buy these for my boys each time they grow out of their old shoe sizes. They hold up amazingly well for having two boys who play outside in the dirt every day. They are pretty rough on their shoes and these last me close to a year, or at least until they grow out of them it seems like. They work well with any of the socks they wear and are easy for them to put on since they don’t have laces. The velcro closures always work well. They soles have great grip so they don’t slide down the hilly areas. They always fit great as well. My boys say they are comfortable and breathable. I think they have pretty good arch supports as well because they never complain that their shoes are uncomfortable and they never get blisters. I have been buying these for the last 6 years and have always had good luck with them. Really great shoes!!

    Good quality and fit.
    Grandson has a wide foot and shoes fit perfectly. They seem well made and perfect for hiking the Colorado mountains. He loves them.

    Nice looking shoes but lacking durability
    Purchases for a camping trip with my six-year-old boy. The fit is great and it’s easy for him to put this on. They look good and are comfortable, but we have had them for about a month and a half and probably wears them 2 to 3 times a week to school. Fairly early, I noticed it fraying along the liner (see photo). I would say it was the way he was wearing them except my daughter has the same shoes (diff color) and the same thing happened to hers. The shoes are still fine, but the torn fabric You makes them look very worn and broken.

    These are Great Right Out of the Box
    I bought these recently (October 2025) for my daughter (6 years-old) who loves to hike. These are outstanding trail shoes. She said they were comfortable right out of the box, and the day she got them we went on a long hike in a forest in the mountains. She was handily climbing up and down rocks, running on the flat bits, and it was slick following a rain, too. They are stable, etc., in the ways you’d want, too. A+

    My son’s first hike with these was in Rocky Mountain National Park. Several trails and they withstood whatever terrain thrown at them. He said they are comfortable, supportive, with excellent traction. Great Merrell Quality.

    Comfortable, decent, but not as durable as the brand suggests
    We have bought several pairs of these shoes. In general, my kids like the fit and feel, but I think the quality has declined recently. I used to think they were durable. It only took a couple months of wearing them a few days a week for the sole to separate from the upper part of the shoe, and the cuffs too wear right through. Yes, this was used by an active little boy, but not every day— he has other pairs of shoes, wears cleats for sports and boots for wet weather/winter, etc. so I did expect much more usage for the price.

    Ich bin so froh, endlich passende Schuhe für mein Sohn gefunden zu haben. Mein Sohn hat einen breiten Fuß und hohen Spann, es ist wirklich nicht leicht passende Schuhe zu finden. Lurchi, Superfit in Schuhweite weit waren zu klein. Diese Schuhe von Merrell sind breit, haben hohen Spann, sehr gute Qualität. Die Schuhe fallen normal aus, mein Sohn hat Größe 37, und 37 hier passen super. Bin sehr zufrieden.
