   Comfortable, Light, but Sturdy
   I like a more traditional walking shoe. After reading other reviews, I was not sure that I would like these, but with my previous experience with Rockports being very positive, I decided to take a chance. The shoes arrived we packaged and in excellent condition. The size is perfect and and I love the sole–lugged but also cushioned. The look is traditional, and so far, they have held up well.Some other reviewers commented that the look was “pleather” rather than leather. Having had shoes from other makers (Johnston and Murphy, Allen Edmonds), this is waterproofed leather. It has a different sheen than natural leather, but does a great job of repelling water.All in all, I highly recommend this shoe.

   Great shoes, not-so-great laces
   I like these shoes a lot. They are semi-dressy and durable. My only complaint is that the laces that come with them start getting wonky after only a few wears and need to be replaced.

   Great shoes, but one major flaw
   I like these shoes, and they have been comfortable and durable for me (this is my second pair). But they have one major flaw: the sides of the tounge of the shoe and the inside of the shoe that rubs against them are made of soft shiny leather that squeaks loudly when walking. I addressed this by putting powder in the crevasse to stop the friction; this works, but why are they made this way???

   Affordable Waterproof Comfort
   This is my third pair. Bought my first pair about 2 years ago and then bought a brown pair to alternate. My black shoes get worn a lot more and the soles have finally started becoming a bit thin. I have about 35 minutes of walking on my daily commute so I need comfortable shoes. I haven’t found a more comfortable dress shoe yet, in this price range. I have seen a lot of criticism over build quality diminishing, but the shoes I have purchased have been very comfortable and I would consider them long lasting. They are definitely water proof which is great for the Pacific Northwest weather I endure. I can stomp through puddles and torrential rain knowing my feet with be dry when I arrive at work. I was even standing in 1″ of water at work once when a bathroom sink was flooding and my feet were still dry. A touch of shoe polish every 8 months and these shoes continue to look near new. I did have to replace my laces about 1 year in though. If there is a more comfortable, well fitting, but dressy shoe out there in the same price range, I would love to know about it. Otherwise, I believe you will be hard pressed to find a better shoe in this category.*****UPDATEThe laces issue appears to have been addressed. My newest shoe laces seem much sturdier and I believe will last the life of the shoe. The soft soles do wear through quicker than I like, but this is likely why they are so damn comfortable. This is still my business casual shoe of choice.

   I am frequently asked if they are comfortable. This seems strange to me
   First Review Ever:I never take the time to write a review, although I do appreciate those who do. I make an exception here because of my experience.These are the only shoes I’ve ever been able to “hit the ground running” in. I’m an RN, so I take anywhere from 7,000 to 16,000 steps a day. Most people seem a little surprised when they see me in these shoes, as most RN’s where I work wear some kind of fancy looking new tennis shoes. I am frequently asked if they are comfortable. This seems strange to me, as if my preference would be to wear uncomfortable shoes while on my feet for 12-18 hours a day!These shoes arrived last Friday. They replaced the exact same model and size I bought used at a thrift store two years ago. Those were the only shoes I wore during that entire time. I wore the soles right off of them. For the last few months, I have been concerned that I would run into difficulty replacing them. To my amazement, I actually found them here on Amazon within about 60 seconds, and ordered them immediately.I have never been able to tolerate a new pair of shoes right out of the box for more than about an hour at a time until I could get them “broke in.” I figured that would be the case with these as well. I was most pleasantly surprised to the contrary. They arrived in the morning. Right out of the box, I was impressed with how well they fit and how comfortable they were. I had initially planned to try to wear them for an hour or so each day until I could tolerate them well enough to wear them to work. I ended up wearing them all day Friday. Granted, I only took about 1,700 steps in them that first day, but I found myself saying several times throughout the day that I might just be able to wear them to work the following day.So I did. I have now taken more than 30,000 steps in them, and I am looking forward to the next 3 million. Thanks for a great shoe Rockport!!

   Dressy but strong
   I’ve had this for months. It looks very nice dressing up or down.The only crappy thing about this shoe are the laces. While the shoe remains pristine, the laces didn’t even last a month before they started wearing off. Not to worry, just buy a replacement lace. Regarding this, I’ve seen enough reviews from other users regarding this lace, so I must wonder at the manufacturers not listening to customer reviews and do something about this little annoyance on an otherwise good shoe. Don’t they read this?

   La entrega puntual. Excelente calidad y diseño del producto. Este es mi segundo par de zapatos Rockport y siempre quedan bien; son cómodos y de gran calidad, el color marrón es más cercano al tono caramelo de lo que aparentan las imágenes. La suela del zapato es negra y hace un gran contraste con el color del cuero. La talla es precisa ( en mi caso 28.5 mx) Seguro que volveré a comprar otro par de otro color; y no dudo en recomendarlos.

   This model of Rockport Shoes has always treated me very well. I wear them for work, and they are very comfortable, as I am heavy on my feet. They are also waterproof, which is a great feature.
