    These shoes are heaven sent!!
    Believe the reviews you read. These shoes are absolutely fabulous. They are incredibly comfortable and light. And, as my wife can attest, my feet don’t seem to smell as bad after a whole day wearing them at work. As soon as I put them on I said, “Oh. Oh wow. These are nice.” Initially I was unsure if I should get a 9 or 9.5. I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes and 9 in dress shoes. I went with the 9.5 and I am glad I did. They fit and feel more like my athletic shoes.One of the first things I noticed after walking in them for a few minutes was how light they felt. So I went to my office at home and put them on the scale. My old shoes measured at 397 grams each. The new Rockports came in at a svelte 270 grams each. After walking in them the last few days, I can can attest that the reduced weight is noticeable.I can’t speak to how they hold up after a long period of time, but I will try to give an update six months to a year from now. However, if you are in the market for a classically stylish and comfortable dress shoe to wear to work everyday, you should definitely consider purchasing this shoe. Very happy with my purchase.Update (May 29, 2019): It has been more than two years since I purchased these shoes and they are holding up very well. They have a few scuffs in the toe area but that’s to be expected after near daily use for 2+ years. I will definitely buy these shoes again.

    I love these shoes. As a big guy, I need shoes that are comfortable over long periods of time, and which look professional. These shoes hit all the marks, and this is my second set over the last 5 years.They are comfortable without needing a long break-in period. They seem to fit true to size.

    Comfortable oxfords to beat up
    I love these shoes as they are exceptionally lightweight and comfortable. I much prefer them to my traditional oxfords for work. The toe box in this style is a bit wider than typical oxfords which I prefer. I wear these for work 4 days a week and have to walk a lot.This is my second pair. My first pair lasted about 4 years before the soles really got worn out and the leather stain got really washed away. The soles have a definite tradeoff for such light shoes. They’re made of some type of foam and wear out quickly compared to a typical sole. They can also get very slippery in the rain especially as the tread starts to wear.Would recommend if you need a comfy shoe you can beat up at work and replace in a few years. Value wise it is just okay not not unreasonable. Would not recommend for something very classy or if you prefer to keep a shoe for 5+ years or like to resole your shoes.

    Very comfortable shoe for this heavy person
    I bought these for work. I previously wore only Red Wing oxfords because they were extra wide and comfortable. They are pricey but it was worth it until my last pair which made farting noises when I walked on carpet at my office. Embarrassing! Anyway not knocking that brand but they no longer carry those type of shoes I wore in my size (10.5 true EEE) anymore. As far as the Rockport’s go–wow they were just the right size for me. I mean most shoes I buy are too tight. I have tall arches as well so I was pleasantly surprised when these came even spacier than I expected. This allows for me to wear odor eaters and added sole support and still fit the shoes comfortably. I am 5’10” 280 LBs. Another positive is that these do not make my feet look fat/extra-large. They are sleek and very light weight. No blisters or discomfort after two weeks of usage.

    A new generation of dress shoes?
    These things are shockingly, surprisingly comfortable and light. It’s obvious that they’ve been built using sneaker technology, but man, there’s nothing to the look or outside technology to give it away. Imagine a feather-light pair of tennies, but not overly-tight. But they just look like… just ARE… an absolutely legitimate pair of jet-black wingtips. All of the stichwork is there to see, the shoes full leather on the outside. (An absolute purist might fault the rubber soul, but they’re thin, attractive, and more like vegan leather than rubber- and also surprisingly light.) In summary: the feel — super comfortable tennies; the appearance — beautiful black leather wingtips.
