   We have three boys and they have all been wearing the Microspec sneakers. Its soft and lightweight. I never understood the super firm rigid sneakers out in the market. The boys do use it a lot and the treads do wear out after a few months though unfortunately to the point we have to replace them regularly. I would say with my boys, they get worn out before they are grown out.
