Our Story

Harry Barker started on a kitchen table in a New York City loft. Founder Carol Perkins was a Ford model in New York, Paris and London, and appeared in everything from Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar to Victoria’s Secret. While still modeling, she also made her debut on Broadway as a fire-eater with Penn & Teller. Then, while suffering from a rare brain tumor, Carol became homebound. She began dog-sitting for friends and creating dog beds, toys and robes as a form of therapy. The products were so popular that following her successful journey and recovery, Carol launched Harry Barker, named in honor of her ‘Super Sheltie’ (pictured left). Today, our products are sold in over 3,900 retail doors in 19 countries.

    Love this storage container
    I needed a container to put my dog’s food in (bag and all). I didn’t want plastic which seems to dominate this field of product. My 33lb bags fit in there nicely but the lid will not go down all the way until some is used put of it. I would not just pour the food straight in since the lid is more loose fitting and not air tight but it does fit nice and looks very pretty. It has the two handles on the side if you need to lift it and it is easy to clean. I feel that the dog food stay fresher when I have this extra container to store it in and it hides the bags to make it look nicer in the house.

    Nice food bin!
    Item was packaged so well not one sent or scratch!! Shipped fast, and looks just like photo’s so cute!! Only thing I’m not thrilled about and this is NOT on the seller, it’s on the designer..,but the lid is not tightly secure. So if you have a food motivated dog, I’m sure that lid will come off as it’s loose.

    Fits a whole bag of dog food!
    We bought this because we have two golden retrievers and we go through a lot of food! We were constantly filling up our storage container of food, and my husband was tired of filling it up every 3-4 days. This now sits perfectly between their two bowls. The large fits a whole 45lb bag of their kibble, which is fantastic.It’s sturdy, on the heavier side (but not cumbersome), and looks really cute! However, the lid just sort of rests on top. According to the website, this has some kind of sealing mechanism that allows food to stay fresh and keep the dogs out, but without being airtight and hard to open. So far, the food has stayed fresh, but my initial impression was not a good one. So far, my dogs have not broken into the food (although that’s not really their personalities, either), but it feels very loose to me. Luckily we live in a pretty mild weather environment with no bug problem, but I would be even more skeptical if I lived somewhere where small bugs were an issue. Will update in a few months if my thoughts changes!

    Large size does not fit 40 ounces of dog food.It’s very light and cheap, not worth $80.

    Beautiful, Functional, Worth the $
    This fits my homes decor so perfectly and is infinitely more esthetically pleasing than a bag of dog food or a plastic bulky bin sitting around your living area. It came in perfect condition, no smells, so scrapes, no dents, and sits beautifully beside my pups food dishes. I get lots of compliments, and it keep him from sniffing into and stealing extra food out of the bag. Nice seal, no complaints. 10/10

    Esta lindo, me gusta que se ve mucho más estético y ordenado que la bolsa de croquetas en la cocina.Creo que el material no es de la mejor calidad ya que me llegó deformado pero no fue nada que no pudiera solucionar moldeándolo con las manos.La tapa no es hermética, es fácil destaparlo, a mi no me molesta porque metí la bolsa completa al bote pero no sé que tanto conservaría el alimento sin ella. Mis perros aún no han intentado voltearlo ni nada parecido, ojalá pase la prueba 😬Vi uno de la misma marca en Home Depot y casi me infarto de saber lo que pagué en comparación a ese, aunque era mediano.Ya veré con el uso cómo se conserva.Pienso que aunque es estético y práctico para el precio podrían hacer algunas mejoras.

    Looks great and as described. I feed my dog Science Diet large breed and the bag is 25lbs. I could fit that full bag and about a quarter of another and it filled the bin. So for large breed food I would say this takes 30lbs. I do recommend the bin the quality is very good.
