The name brand is worth it!
After trying and returning three other off-brands of dance/character shoes in an attempt to save a few dollars, I decided I might as well give up and spring for a name brand — and then I found this style, which was around the same price point as the knockoffs, and is MUCH better quality!I have wide feet and also wear orthotic inserts for absurdly high arches, so I ordered a half size up from what I’d normally wear. The toe box in the Wide width is perfect for my feet, with no squeezing or pressure. For reference, the 10W measures about 3.75″ across the widest point of the ball of the foot (3.5″ sole, but the leather has some give to it). The flat notch at the back of the heel avoids putting undue pressure on the Achilles tendon. Although the footbed is contoured and would probably be fine for someone with flat feet, there isn’t a lot of internal arch support for those of us with higher arches. Fortunately, the sides of the shoes are high enough to accommodate inserts (my orthotics are elevated about 1.2″ at the arch and they fit fine in these without showing above the leather upper, as you can see in the photos). The leather soles are scored but still very slick, so if you aren’t using these for dance where you need low friction movement, you’ll probably want to add some adhesive traction pads.Bonus: They double as attractive business casual/dress shoes, and the low heel makes them comfortable enough for all-day wear. The first time I wore them, someone complimented my cute footwear!

Most Comfortable Shoes for Stage and Everyday
Bought a pair for my daughter when she was in a musical last year and she loved them. I’m going to probably need to buy a new pair for her this year, though, because she beat them to pieces. When we had a wedding to attend this year, I promised myself I would be comfortable this time. I’m 5’9-1/2″ tall, have bunions on both feet and hate heels. I’ve bought many shoes that I just can’t force myself to wear again because they cause too much pain. These might not have been stylish enough for a wedding, but I didn’t care. I was comfortable! Particularly when all the women with gorgeous 3″ heels were complaining of the pain and I saw a lot of bandaged feet the next morning. These were inexpensive and good looking. For both my daughter and I, I bought a full size larger and they fit beautifully. I love the ankle strap which feels more secure than typical slip-on shoes. I highly recommend these shoes!

    Size Up! Helpful Sizing Info
Hope this helps someone:I am 5’8″ and 165lbs. I usually wear a 9/9.5 shoe depending on type. I ordered a 9.5 first time I ordered this shoe, and it was much too tight, both in length and width. I reordered a 10W, and I am so much happier. There is room to wear a thin sock w them also. I will update my rating after I have worn them for an extended period of time.

    Sturdy and comfortable
These shoes are great for wearing onstage. They’re sturdy, comfortable and durable. They have held up well over time.

Great shoes, just order up in size.
I’m taking a Latin dance class, so I wanted shoes I could dance in. I have problem feet and don’t get along with dress shoes very well anyway. These were available in wide width, and I bought a larger size as suggested by other reviewers. They fit very well! They weren’t too loose in the heels, as some wide shoes are. The length was perfect. They are a bit tight at the sides.bases of my big toes, but I think they will stretch a bit as I break them in. I wore them to class today, and I didn’t have any blisters or chaffing. The straps are hard for me to fasten, so I might have to work on the holes I want to use, but that’s OK. I’m happy!

    Cheap
Very cheap looking and feel. The material is very flimsy and the “arch support” is like a thin piece of fabric. There is no cushioning or anything of the sort in the shoe, just the hard block of the sole. Very uncomfortable. The cheap material digs into your skin. I would skip on these and find something else.

    Good shoe, runs small
They are much smaller than they should be. Very, very tight in the toe box. Definitely not a wide width shoe. I wear a 10 and have semi wide feet. Usually I don’t need to get wides but did after reading reviews. They are still extremely tight. I almost couldn’t get them on and my toes are smashed. They do seem like decent quality tho and if they were a correct size they would probably be very comfortable. So size up half a size and if your feet aren’t narrow get the wide option.

Great Shoes in a Wide Width!!!
I purchased these shoes to wear with a Roaring 20’s Flapper costume. I wear a wide shoe and always seem to have an issue when buying shoes online. These shoes fit like a charm. They were comfortable and I wore them all evening without evening thinking about them (meaning they were so comfortable I didn’t have to think about them being too tight or flopping up/down when I walked). The only downside was that after only wearing them one evening with very limited walking the shoes seemed very worn on the bottom. I’m not sure why…but would suspect that these shoes would not hold up long with everyday use. However, for my needs I am totally satisfied with this purchase!!!

Capezio is my go to for character shoes. They are elegant and very comfortable. I had a minor issue with my first pair of shoes and they immediately replaced my shoes and I had the new pair back in time for the show I was in. I always find with character shoes I go up half a size, so that’s something to keep in mind.

  10. Amazon Customer

The shoes were the look we were going for and that’s the only positive thing I can say. I am very disappointed with the quality of these shoes. For starters, the box they came in was mangled, dusty and dirty, it looked like it was on the bottom of a warehouse somewhere being kicked around for years. I bought these for my daughter to wear in her musical production at school. She only wore them to 3 practices for a few hours each time and they are falling apart. Where the heel and shoe meet they are all peeling and the heels themselves are not holding up either. I am sure by the time the musical is over at the end of March these shoes will be ready for the garbage. Very Very disappointed, and I will never buy from this vendor again.
