    Virbac C.E.T. HEXTRA Premium Oral Hygiene Chews are amazing for my dog! My dog loves the rawhide coating and the chews help fight bacteria and freshen breath. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my dog’s dental health. The chews are the perfect size and texture. Great for daily oral care between vet cleanings.     Good for Teeth but Smells Bad
    My dogs love these treats. I love that these treats are good for their teeth. These are long lasting treats in the sense that the dogs take about an hour or longer to finish them.My only complaint is that they have a gross smell to them initially but, after the dogs have worked on them for a bit, the smell goes away.

    My Dog Loves this Product
    My dog is a picky hygiene chew eater, and she doesn’t really chew anything, just gobbles food down whole! But she loves the taste! The product does a good job keeping her teeth free of tarter build up, but I also us it with Vetoquinol Dentahex Pet Oral Hygiene Rinse which keeps her breath smelling less like a dog.

    Was introduced to these chew sticks by our groomer. They are a bit pricey in my opinion, but the dog loves them.

    Works well and my dog likes the taste
    So far this is my favorite dental chew I’ve used for my dog. Chlorohexidine is used in hospitals all the time to clean skin, and there’s even chlorohexidine mouth wash for humans so I know its proven to work. I would much rather spend a few more dollars for something that is guaranteed to do an excellent job at cleaning my dogs teeth. I like that it uses both mechanical AND chemical action to clean rather than other dental chews that rely mostly on mechanical action to scrape plaque off of the teeth.My dog also prefers the taste of this dental treat compared to other enzymatic chews. I also found that it lasts longer than non-rawhide chews.I know that rawhide has its pros and cons but currently this is the only dental chew on the market that uses chlorohexidine and works this well. I consider it safe as long as your dog doesn’t gulp down large chunks without chewing and its not given in large amounts.

    Dangerous!
    DANGEROUS! My dog LOVES these and I thought they were safe bc my vet also sells them. Every day, my dog get one. Six hours after receiving one, I look over at my dog who had been sleeping beside me curled up, and he is looking as he is convulsing, his mouth is clamped shut, and his eyes are glazing over and I can see he is DYING. I have no idea what is happening then I realize he is trying to paw at his face – he is choking in silence bc he has NO air. We swept his airway and accidentally pushed whatever it was into his throat which saved his life. The ER vet after XRAYs, MRI and forced regurgitation determined that the chew was still in large pieces in his stomach (we saw them, they were huge), and he must’ve burped some up SIX HOURS after eating one and that blocked his airway and almost killed him. We usually get the other Virbac CET treats and this month the HEX were the only ones in his size- they’re much thinner and he ate them faster, and maybe that has something to do with little he chewed them. These also stink a lot more and came a weird brown color, not white. Never, ever again.

    I know people advise against Rawhide, and this product does contain ‘beef hide’ however its very soft hide, it softens with saliva and breaks apart so i have no concerns over my dogs stomach health with this chew. The chew has no or little odour and my dog seems to love the taste and enjoy it. It takes him a few minutes to chew and seems to help clean his back inside teeth that i cannot manually reach. Appropriate size for a 6/5kg dog in my opinion, easy to use and effective! Large pack and worth the money, better than the veggident version for effectiveness (personal opinion)

    Recommended by vet, my jack russell loves them. I gave her one a day to help keep her teeth clean. She was having problems before with food and buildup at her back teeth, discoloured teeth, requiring costly dental cleanings. She still gets her teeth cleaned once a year, but the teeth look so much better since she started using these chews 3 years ago.

    These are good dental chews for your pups.My older one goes through it fairly quickcompared to the younger who is still getting her permanent teeth in.They soften up as the dog chews so as with any chew of this kindonly give it when you can watch them to be sure they don’t over do it and possibly choke.Not an every day treat, but an occasional one.

    Bought this for my yorkie , unlike the one for puppy, this was much difficult for him to chew and he got bored . Guess it will be great for bigger dogs . I bought one from the vet , same make but for dogs 5-10 kgs which he enjoys
